Instant OATS ADAI
Instant OATS Adai is a very healthy Indian breakfast dish served with coconut chutney. Adai is made of Oats, tomatoes, onions and some basic Indian spices. It is usually prepared for breakfast and is filling and healthier than dosa. It is a comfort food which is enjoyed by everyone of all ages. These Adais tasts when had with Tomato Sauce or Coconut chutney. So do try this recipe I promise u'r kids are going to love them a lot.....
Ingredients for Instant OATS Adai :
2 cup Oats
1/4 cup Semolina / Rawa
1/4 cup Rice flour
2 small onions finely chopped
2 small Tomatoes finely chopped
2 Carrots grated
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Red chilli powder
Salt as per taste
Oil to prepare Adai
Water to make batter
To prepare Instant OATS Adai :
1. Take a bowl add OATS, Semolina / Rawa, Rice flour, Onions, Tomatoes, Carrots, Coriander powder, Red chilli powder and Salt and mix well. and add required amount of water to make dosa batter consistency.
2. For this add required amount of water to make coarse and thicker batter consistency.
3. Heat a non stik dosa pan and apply the oil. Once the oil is hot enough pour the batter on it and spread the batter, (Compare to dosa OATS Adai is slightly thicker) and make some holes on the Adai and pour the oil, and put the lid on and let it cook for 2 minutes in a slow flame. Turn and cook on the other side with out the lid for 1 more min.
4. Serve this hot OATS Adai with Tomato Sauce or Coconut chutney.
Tips / Notes :
- U can adjust the Semolina / Rawa and Rice flour quantities as per your requirement.
- U can add Green chillies instead of red chilli powder.
- U can add whole black pepper to make more spice and tastier OATS Adai.

Ragi Oats - Rawa Dosa
Ragi is packed with calcium, iron, amino acids and anti-oxidants, Ragi is truly a natural wonder. We tell you the reasons why you must essentially include Ragi in your diet. Oats can be included in common breakfasts and are an excellent source of iron, dietary fiber and thiamin. Here comes an delicious and healthy Ragi Oats - Rawa Dosa, Dosa is a traditional breakfast item in every South Indian households. It is a comfort food which is enjoyed by everyone of all ages. These Dosa's taste great when had hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
Ingredients for Ragi Oats - Rawa Dosa:
Urad dal - 3/4 cup
Urad dal - 3/4 cup
Idli Rawa - 1.75 cups
Oats - 1 cup
Ragi Powder - 3/4 cup
Fenugreek / Methi seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to prepare dosa
Fenugreek / Methi seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to prepare dosa
Water as per requirement
To prepare Ragi Oats - Rawa Dosa:
1. Wash and Soak urad dal and Fenugreek seeds for atleast 4 hours and make a smooth batter by grinding it in wet grinder or mixi.
2. Add water to the Idli rava and let it soak for about 25 to 30 minutes. Drain any excess water. Wash oats and drain excess water. Now mix the ground urad dal paste with Idli rawa and oats. Mix well till no lumps are formed.
3. Keep the batter aside overnight to ferment. Next day add Ragi flour and salt, mix well.
Tips / Notes:
· Ragi Oats - Rawa Dosa tastes great when served hot and made very thin.
· You can also prepare this with left over Oats Rawa Idli batter by adding Ragi flour and required amount of water to make dosa bater consistency and call it as "Instant Ragi Oats Rawa Dosa".
· U can fry Oats and make coarse powder. But I prefer to add it directly for the fast cooking process.
· Adjust Idli Rava, Oats and Ragi powder quantity as per your requirement.

Oats Rawa Idli
Rolled Oats, which are commonly referred to as just "oats" are crushed grains of oat that have been rolled into flakes. The flakes are steam treated in order to soften them and make it easier for the body to digest the grains. Oats can be included in common breakfasts and are an excellent source of iron, dietary fiber and thiamin. Here comes an Easy, delicious and healthy Oats idli, Idli is a traditional breakfast item in every South Indian households. It is a comfort food which is enjoyed by everyone of all ages. These idli’s taste great when had hot with sambar and chutney. For new mom this is one of the best Confinement food to boost the milk supply.
Ingredients for Oats Rawa Idli:
Urad dal - 3/4 cup

Fenugreek/ Methi seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Few drops of Oil for greasing the Idli plates

To prepare Oats Rawa Idli:

5. Fill the idli cooker or pressure cooker with 2 to 3 cups of water and put the idli maker into the cooker and steam it for about 13 to 15 minutes. Serve this soft healthy Oats Rawa Idli with your favourite chutney and Sambar.

Healthy instant Oats Dosa
This must be one of the easiest Dosas I have made, and its super healthy and nutritious too :) Needs very minimal soaking time, and is a great breakfast option when you pressed for time, or need a break from the normal Urad dal - Rice Dosas ! Its a good option for diabetics as well
Ingredients for Oats Dosas :
Oats : 1cup
Rice flour : 2tsp
Rawa/suji : 2tsp
Tomato : 1no
Onion : 1no
Salt as per taste
Lemon juice 1/2tsp (opt)
Water - 1cup
1. Finely chop tomatoes and onions
2. In a mixing bowl add oats, rice flour, suji, tomatoes, onions, salt and mix well. add water and make dosa batter.
3. Heat the griddle and pour the dosa batter on and spread it. pour some oil put the lid on and let it cook for some time. then flip the dosa and cook in other side too without lid and serve this hot healthy dosa with tomato onion chutney or with your favourite chutney.
